30th March 2022 – Maria Dymitruk – The use of artificial intelligence in civil proceedings Seminar

During the seminar, Maria Dymitruk talked her conducted and ongoing research, its subject and main objectives. She discussed the models of AI application in civil proceedings, selected issues concerning the admissibility of such application, in particular in the context of the right to a fair trial. She also provided for some existing legal frames for the discussed topic.

Maria Dymitruk is a PhD student at the University of Wroclaw, Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics. Since 2014 she has carried out research on the use of artificial intelligence in law, e-justice and impact of technology on law and administration of justice at the Research Centre on Legal and Economic Issues of Electronic Communication, where she is currently an Assistant. She has authored scientific publications and presented papers at national and international scientific conferences. She coordinated and took part in international and national research projects as well. She is a member of the International Association for Artificial Intelligence and Law (IAAIL) and the President of the New Technologies Commision at the Fédération des Barreaux d’Europe. She has also gained her professional experience as attorney at law.
