In his lecture, our guest demonstrated that financial stability is a direct function of the applicable legal framework. During the presentation he also analysed the current EU “Market in Crypto-Assets” (MiCA) Regulation proposal, as well as discussed the liquidity risk inherent in stablecoins and how such risk is linked with the regulatory framework applicable to stablecoins.

Edoardo D. Martino is an assistant professor (tenure track) of Law & Finance at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Edoardo is also a Research Associate at the European Banking Institute (EBI). Edoardo holds a PhD in Law and Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), an LL.M. from the European Master in Law and Economics – EMLE (with distinction) and Law Degree from University of Florence (summa cum laude). He was a visiting researcher at several universities, such as Oxford University, University of Hamburg, University of Bologna.
