February 26th – JuDDGES: przekraczanie granic sztucznej inteligencji

? The JuDDGES project (financed by the National Science Centre, registration no.: 2022/04/Y/ST6/00183) wants to revolutionize the use of legal data by offering lawyers new technologies for natural language processing, especially eliminating barriers such as differences in formats and resources. This is expected to facilitate research of court decisions. The project will develop a tool for analyzing unstructured textual data in court records, helping to create the largest legal dataset in Europe. The open-source Human-In-The-Loop (HITL) software and tools resulting from the project will help early-stage researchers who are not experts in artificial intelligence to mine data from court decisions and identify new lines of jurisprudence.

?‍? Tomasz Kajdanowicz, PhD, is an associate professor of artificial intelligence at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology and the head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence at the same university. He received his Ph.D. degree with distinction from Wrocław University of Science and Technology in 2012, and his postdoctoral degree in 2020 from the Institute of Computer Science Foundations of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. His main research interests include machine learning, deep learning, representation learning, social network analysis, social media analysis and recommender systems.
