Artur Kowalczyk
Artur Kowalczyk is a Research and Teaching Assistant at the Chair of Criminal Procedure (Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics, University of Wroclaw).
Artur has been working on his doctoral dissertation under the supervision of Professor Jerzy Skorupka. He participates in the research project Compensation for wrongful conviction – theory and practice financed by the Polish National Science Center (principal investigator: Wojciech Jasiński). As a researcher he visited the Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law, University of Cologne, and Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law in Freiburg im Breisgau.
He has completed the judicial training at the Polish National School of Judiciary and Public Prosecution (2016-2019) and currently deals with criminal cases as an assessor at the District Court in Milicz, Lower Silesia.
His research focuses mainly on Polish and comparative criminal procedure, in particular with regard to illegally or improperly obtained evidence and compensation for wrongful deprivation of liberty.
Artur is interested in modern history, likes to travel near and far, and is a fan of classic literature, preferably the old editions.
