
Katarzyna Goclik
Katarzyna Goclik is a PhD student at the Digital Justice Center (Chair of Criminal Procedure). Her research fields are focused on international criminal law, public international law and domestic criminal law both substantive and procedural.
Katarzyna received her master’s degree in law from the University of Wrocław. She wrote her master’s thesis at the Chair of Substantive Criminal Law. Her paper considered the methods of case selection and, more specifically, whether social harmfulness should be a part of the dogmatic structure of crime.
During her studies she was the president of Scientific Circle of Criminal Procedure, a vice president of Scientific Circle of International and European Law and a member of University Legal Clinic. Katarzyna is also a recipient of numerous distinctions and scientific awards, including several scholarships of the Rector of the University of Wrocław for the best students. She gained her practical experience by working as a paralegal in a law firm where she focused on criminal cases, as well as through being a trainee in the Criminal Division of the District Court in Wrocław.
Katarzyna gained her international experience by participating in a one-semester Erasmus+ program at the Eötvös Loránd University (Hungary). She has also participated in EDELNet summer school of Public International Law which took place in Bonn. Katarzyna took part in several national and international moot court competitions such as IBA ICC Moot Court Competition, Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition or Local Moot Court on Public International Law organized by ELSA Wrocław at which her team was awarded the first prize.
She has actively participated in numerous scientific conferences by delivering papers on cybercrimes, proceedings before the International Criminal Court and the dogmatic structure of crime. She is also the author of several publications on criminal law.
Besides law, Katarzyna enjoys learning foreign languages, travelling, and going to yoga classes.
