Kamil Sobański and Karolina Kremens took part on 25 March 2026 in an event held at the Wrocław Town Hall to present diplomas to PhD candidates awarded scholarships for outstanding achievements by the President of Wrocław. Kamil received the Wincenty Styś Scholarship in the field of social sciences and humanities for his PhD research conducted under the supervision of Karolina Kremens.
Kamil’s PhD project focuses on the digitalization of criminal proceedings, specifically on the issue of remote participation. Drawing on the experience of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, he examines how remote participation affects the rights of participants in criminal proceedings and aims to develop a comprehensive proposal for regulating fully remote and hybrid criminal proceedings. The project is funded by the National Science Centre and included a six‑month research stay at the Department of Criminal Law at Tilburg University in the Netherlands under the National Agency for Academic Exchange funding.
Kamil’s works has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of International Criminal Justice (Oxford University Press) and the European Journal of Crime, Criminal Law and Criminal Justice (Brill).
