A new publication by Dominika Kuźnicka-Błaszkowska

A new publication by Dominika Kuźnicka-Błaszkowska has appeared in “Rivista di diritto dei media”, building on research presented at the conference “Rights, Powers and Remedies in the Automation Era” (Università Bocconi, Milan, October 2025).

The article, “Censorship by Proxy? Platform Power, the Digital Services Act and the Future of Free Speech in the EU,” critically examines how the Digital Services Act reshapes the governance of online speech in Europe.

Dominika argues that the DSA’s systemic risk framework may shift key decisions on freedom of expression from public authorities to private platforms. In practice, this can lead to the suppression of lawful but controversial content through algorithmic moderation and risk-avoidance strategies.

The paper contributes to ongoing debates on:
