
DJC’s PhD candidates participated in two events at the Institute of Legal Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences
On November 27 and 28, our PhD candidates participated in two events at the Institute of Legal Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, contributing to discussions on victims, digitalization, and criminal proceedings.
During the conference ‘From East to West: Advancing Victims’ Rights in a Global Context,’ Aleksandra Bodzioch presented ‘Transforming Communication with Crime Victims: Balancing Technology, Plain Language, and Human Connection,’ and Kamil Sobański presented ‘Advancing Victims’ Rights and the Digitalization of Criminal Trials Through the Lens of the International Criminal Court.’
During the seminar ‘I am not a cat! Criminal proceedings against the challenges of new technologies,’ Aleksandra Bodzioch presented ‘The Right to Information for Victims in the Digital Age,’ Kalina Romanowska presented ‘Encrypted Electronic Evidence – Challenges for Criminal Proceedings,’ Katarzyna Goclik presented ‘The Significance of Electronic Evidence in Proceedings Based on the Principle of Universal Jurisdiction,’ and Kamil Sobański presented ‘A Necessary Concession or a Unique Opportunity: The International Criminal Court and Remote Participation in Criminal Proceedings.’
These events provided an opportunity for our young researchers to present their findings and new proposals, engage in discussion, and receive valuable feedback. We would like to thank the organizers for these fruitful events!
