Karolina Kremens and members of the working group on the Public Prosecution published an article on the reforms

Karolina Kremens and members of the working group on the Public Prosecution (Michał Gabriel-Węglowski, Robert Kmieciak, Michał Mistygacz, Jarosław Onyszczuk, and Małgorzata Szeroczyńska) published an article in the leading Polish legal journal “Państwo i Prawo” on the reform of the public prosecution’s system in Poland, outlining the assumptions of the draft bill and proposed directions for change.

In the article, the authors emphasize the need to eliminate provisions that preserve the supervisory role of senior prosecutors, abolish the extension of investigations and inquiries—mechanisms unique in Europe—and end the requirement for Polish prosecutors to attend every death scene and all autopsies.

The article is available at the following link:

The team operates within the Commission for the Codification of the System of Judiciary and Public Prosecution, which is responsible for drafting legislation concerning the judiciary and public prosecution. Karolina Kremens serves as the Deputy Chair of the Commission (see more: https://digitaljustice.uwr.edu.pl/en/2024/04/17/karolina-kremens-has-become-deputy-chairman-of-the-commission-for-the-codification-of-the-system-of-judiciary-and-public-prosecution/).
