Karolina Kremens, Wojciech Jasiński and Kamil Sobański attended the Virtual Criminal Justice Network Conference in Lund, Sweden, from June 10 to 11. The event was organized as part of the Virtual Criminal Justice Network, whose founders are Carolyn McKay (Sydney University, Australia), Lisa Flower (Lund University, Sweden), Christina Peristeridou (Maastricht University, the Netherlands) and Dorris de Vocht (Tilburg University, the Netherlands).

During the conference, Karolina Kremens chaired the “Emotions and experience in virtual courtrooms” panel and presented a paper “Videoconferences in the EU cross-border criminal proceedings under European Investigation Order”. The whole event was a great contribution to the exchange of ideas, discussion and presentation of research in the area of virtual justice.

The Virtual Criminal Justice Network is a collaborative platform consisting of 100 researchers from diverse fields including criminal law, sociology, psychology, criminology, and language communication. Their focus is on exploring the use of digital tools in criminal proceedings. The network’s goals include fostering interdisciplinary research, sharing ideas, and uniting experts from various disciplines.
