Karolina Kremens and Kamil Sobański attended the international conference “Contemporary Challenges of International Criminal Justice,” which inaugurated the newly established Kraków Center for International Criminal Justice, directed by Piotr Hofmański, former president of the International Criminal Court.
The conference was divided into three sessions. The sessions addressed the principle of complementarity and the jurisdiction of the ICC. The third session focused on new technologies in international criminal justice and Karolina Kremens presented her paper outlining the benefits and risks of the defendant’s virtual participation in international criminal proceedings. Karolina is also a member of the scientific council of the newly established Center.
We are very happy and proud that this kind of Center has been established in our part of Europe. We look forward to fruitful cooperation in the future and further development of this research facility!
