Kaja Kowalczewska at Young Penalists Symposium in Kyoto

We are delighted to announce a significant milestone achieved by our researcher, Kaja Kowalczewska!

Kaja had the privilege of being invited to the 11th International Association of Penal Law (AIDP) Young Penalists Symposium in Kyoto, where she presented her groundbreaking research on “Digitalization and democratization of documenting efforts for international criminal justice: how much space for revictimization sensitivity. Polish insights from Ukrainian war experience.”

A heartfelt thank you to Prof. John Vervaele for chairing the panel, and our deepest gratitude to Prof. Megumi Ochi for organizing this exceptional event. It was a fantastic platform for the insightful discussions that unfolded around victim-centered criminal justice.

Kaja’s research is a testament to the Digital Justice Center’s commitment to advancing digital tools and methodologies to create a more just world. Her work showcases the vital role of technology in documenting international core crimes while keeping victim sensitivity at the forefront.
