Professor Karolina Kremens has received a PRELUDIUM BIS 4 grant sponsored by the National Science Centre!

Professor Karolina Kremens (head at the Digital Justice Center) has received a PRELUDIUM BIS 4 grant sponsored by the National Science Centre! As a result, Professor Kremens will form a research team, in which she will be the project leader and supervisor of a PhD student. The purpose of the program is to support the education of doctoral students by providing a PhD scholarship allowing to carry out a research project, and promoting international mobility.

The topic of the project is “Virtual Justice. Remote proceedings before the International Criminal Court – threat or opportunity?”. As part of it, the research team will analyze the clashing interests of defendants, victims, witnesses and the public when proceedings are conducted remotely, i.e. with the use of technology that allows all parties to the proceedings and the public to connect remotely. For more information see our website https://digitaljustice.uwr.edu.pl/en/projects/virtual-justice-remote-proceedings-before-the-international-criminal-court-threat-or-opportunity-2023-2027/ and the website of National Science Centre https://www.ncn.gov.pl/sites/default/files/listy-rankingowe/2022-09-15du59ho/streszczenia/567740-pl.pdf.

The entire Digital Justice Center team contributed to this success. We are also grateful to to Professor Katarzyna Kajdanek of the Faculty of Social Sciences for her advice on the application process.
