Katarzyna Parchimowicz and Dominika Kuźnicka-Błaszkowska attended the inaugural European Law Unbound Society (ELU-S) conference

From 25–27 September 2025, Katarzyna Parchimowicz and Dominika Kuźnicka-Błaszkowska had the pleasure of attending the inaugural European Law Unbound Society (ELU-S) conference—a truly inspiring gathering of EU law scholars.

It was a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas, meet inspiring colleagues, and discuss how EU law can respond to the challenges of the digital era.

During the conference:

🔹Katarzyna Parchimowicz presented her research on Digital Services Act as a potential tool to address the destabilizing effects that social media posts can have on the financial system – a topic she is exploring as part of her research project funded by the NCN Narodowe Centrum Nauki “ Beware financial stability – reverse engineering of legal threats in the areas of technology, climate and anti-money laundering” (project no. 2023/51/D/HS5/00077). 🔹 Also, Kasia’s co-authored paper on national practices in identifying other systemically important institutions and setting an O-SII buffer was presented by one of the co-authors – Joeri De Smet (co-authors: Sjur Swensen Ellingsæter and Rebecca Söderström).

🔹Dominika Kuźnicka-Błaszkowska spoke about the impact of deepfakes on the stability of capital markets and the lack of an adequate regulatory response within both EU digital and financial law. Her paper is also a result of the NCN-funded research project no. 2023/51/D/HS5/00077.

These three days in Prague were filled with inspiring discussions, thought-provoking presentations, and new ideas for future research. We return motivated and full of energy to continue these conversations and collaborations!
