
Katarzyna Goclik and Kamila Konopko finished their research stay at the Max Planck Institute
We are thrilled to inform that Katarzyna Goclik – PhD student at the Digital Justice Center, and Kamila Konopko – PhD student at the Department of Criminal Procedure, have just finished their research stay at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law in Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany). 📚⚖️

Its international reputation, extensive library resources, and interdisciplinary research environment make it an important hub for scholars conducting advanced studies in comparative and international criminal law. 📖💡
During her stay, Katarzyna Goclik focused on carrying out a research project funded by a Minigrant for PhD students at the University of Wrocław, entitled “The Genesis and Development of the Application of Universal Jurisdiction in the Adjudication of Criminal Cases.” The library research conducted at the Institute significantly contributed to the progress of her doctoral dissertation concerning the principle of universal jurisdiction. 👩🎓
Meanwhile, Kamila Konopko worked on a research project funded by a Minigrant for PhD students at the University of Wrocław, titled “Presenting Charges in Criminal Proceedings: Between Formalism and Procedural Safeguard – A Comparative Analysis.” The library research she conducted at the Institute played an important role in advancing her doctoral dissertation, which examines the formalization of suspicion.
Each research stay not only enabled valuable access to unique resources and expertise but also provided an inspiring academic environment that fostered new perspectives for the ongoing doctoral projects.
