
An award for Tina Salerno
We are excited to share news about an award won by Tina Salerno, a PhD candidate in Cyber Investigation and Digital Forensics at the University of Bologna and the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca. Who is Tina? We’re happy to announce that she has been awarded an Erasmus+ scholarship, which will allow her to continue her research at the Digital Justice Center for six months!
Tina presented her research at the International Forensic Software School (IFOSS), directed by Professors Battiato, Curtotti, and Ziccardi. For the second consecutive year, Tina received the award for “Best CV and Research Presentation,” a recognition that highlights her dedication and the quality of her work. 📚📖
During her stay at the DJC, she will focus on developing new legal parameters to ensure a fair balance between privacy, cybersecurity, fundamental rights and encryption in international cooperation investigations, with particular attention to combating terrorism and organized crime.
Her research focuses on investigating the digital surveillance systems utilized by law enforcement and the counter-surveillance tactics employed by organized crime, particularly mafia-style criminal organizations, to evade investigations.
Her research aims to mitigate the transition of mafia organizations into cyberspace, an area of growing importance.
