OPUS 28 for Karolina Kremens!

We are proud to announce that Karolina Kremens has been awarded the OPUS 28 grant from the Polish National Science Center (NCN) for her project “Justice for Victims 2.0: Leveraging Modern Technology in Rape Cases.”

The project, funded with 1,034,060 PLN (project no. 2024/55/B/HS5/02138), will run from 2025 to 2029 and aims to explore how modern technology—such as digital evidence, remote hearings, and real-time victim notification systems—can enhance the criminal justice system’s response to rape cases

It will examine evolving definitions of rape, evidentiary standards, procedural safeguards, and victims’ right to information, all within the context of digital transformation. Combining doctrinal, empirical, and technological approaches, the project seeks to develop innovative, victim-centered legal standards

The research team includes Wojciech Jasiński, Dominika Czerniak, and Tomasz Piekot.

Huge congratulations to the entire team! We’re looking forward to the important contributions this project will make to justice and victims’ rights in the digital age.
