
Kamil Sobański has been awarded a scholarship under the NAWA Preludium Bis 4 Program
We are pleased to announce that Kamil Sobański has been awarded a scholarship under the NAWA Preludium Bis 4 Program (No. BPN/PRE/2024/1/00006/DEC/1) to undertake an international PhD internship. Kamil’s research project, titled “Rights of Participants in International Criminal Trials in the Context of Remote Proceedings before the International Criminal Court,” received positive evaluation from the selection committee.
During the six-month internship, Kamil will join the Department of Criminal Law at Tilburg University’s School of Law (Netherlands) as a Visiting PhD Student. He will be supervised by Prof. Elies van Sliedregt, a leading authority in international criminal law and head of the European Research Council-funded “Joined Up Justice” project. Additionally, Kamil will collaborate also with Dr. Dorris de Vocht, an expert in virtual criminal justice and a member of the Virtual Criminal Justice Network.
This internship will contribute to Kamil’s PhD research, funded by the Polish National Science Centre, titled “Virtual Justice: Remote Proceedings before the International Criminal Court – Threat or Opportunity” (No. 2022/47/O/HS5/01229).
