Ewa Górska, is a finalist in the 24th edition of the Scientific Awards of ‘Polityka’ weekly
We are thrilled to announce that our affiliated researcher, Ewa Górska, is a finalist in the 24th edition of the Scientific Awards of ‘Polityka’ weekly.
Ewa Górska holds a PhD in law and is a scholar specializing in the culture and law of West Asia (the Middle East). Her expertise lies in the sociology of law and Law and Culture studies, with a focus on deconstructing stereotypes related to Islam and the Arab world. Her research interests include Arab customary law, contemporary Islamic law, the perception of Islam in the Polish judiciary, hate crimes, and the interplay between law and Orientalism. Since her master’s studies, she has also been engaged in research in Palestine, examining how law is used for colonization, exclusion, and discrimination against indigenous populations.
Soon, she will begin a new project on the representation of Islam in European Courts. A dedicated science communicator, she hosts the podcast Reorient.pl and collaborates with civil society organizations in Poland and abroad.
