Wojciech Jasiński has been appointed to the Task Team for the Informatization of the Criminal Process
We are pleased to announce that Wojciech Jasiński has been appointed to the Task Team for the Informatization of the Criminal Process within the Criminal Law Codification Commission!
The Team, appointed on 23rd September 2024 and chaired by prof. Sławomir Steinborn, will operate until the preparation of objectives for the informatization of the criminal process and possible proposals for appropriate legislative solutions. Other Team Members include dr Maciej Fingas, dr Karolina Kiejnich-Kruk, dr Martyna Kusak, prof. dr hab. Arkadiusz Lach, dr Anna Wolska-Bagińska.
Wojciech Jasiński is primarily engaged in research focusing on various aspects of criminal procedure, law of evidence and human rights in criminal proceedings. As a Member of the Digital Justice Center, much of his current work touches on the intersection of law and technology. One of his recent projects, “Right not to Incriminate Oneself in the Digital Era. Can New Challenges Help Us Find Common Foundations?” funded by the National Science Centre (NCN), involves exploring the scope right not to incriminate oneself in the digital age. This research addresses how the proliferation of digital technologies impacts legal rights, examining whether the traditional understanding of self-incrimination still holds in the context of new technological challenges. His work in international research projects, such as the “CROSSJUSTICE” and “FACILEX”, also includes technological advancements to enhance judicial cooperation across Europe and ensure the protection of procedural rights.
We congratulate Wojciech on this well-deserved appointment and look forward to the positive impact his work will bring to the adaptation of the criminal justice system to upcoming challenges!
