From May 30th to June 8th, 2024, students from the University of Wrocław participated in the IBA ICC Moot Court Competition in The Hague, Netherlands.
The IBA ICC Moot Court Competition is a prestigious international law event organized by the Grotius Centre and the International Bar Association, in collaboration with the International Criminal Court. The competition involves the preparation of written memoranda, followed by oral rounds of simulated proceedings in front of the International Criminal Court.
This initiative was organized by the Digital Justice Center and the team was coached by Kaja Kowalczewska and Karolina Kremens. The preparations were further supported by Kamil Sobański and Ivan Vidaković.
The student team comprised of two researchers, Barbara Pauli and Kalina Romanowska, and three speakers: Aleksandra Bodzioch as Prosecution Counsel, Katarzyna Goclik as Victims’ Counsel, and Radosław Rejmoniak as Defense Counsel.
Participation in this international competition allowed the students to compete alongside brilliant minds from around the world, broaden their knowledge of international criminal law, and create unforgettable memories. The feedback from esteemed judges was invaluable and will undoubtedly shape their future legal careers.
During their trip to The Hague, the team had the opportunity to visit Europol, the International Criminal Court, and Peace Palace.
