Digital Justice Center at the INPRIS’ seminar!
We’re absolutely thrilled to share the exciting news that Karolina Kremens, Director of the Digital Justice Center, recently took center stage as a keynote speaker at an international seminar focusing on the critical theme of “Freedom of Expression and Association of Prosecutors.” This seminar, which took place on April 12-13, 2024, was organized by INPRIS as part of the renowned TRIIAL2 project, delving into issues within Poland’s legal landscape. Spearheaded by the European University Institute (EUI) based in Florence, Italy, the seminar served as a platform for discussions and valuable insights.
INPRIS, standing for the Institute of Law and Society, is dedicated to fostering awareness and education surrounding important legal matters in Poland. Concurrently, TRIIAL2, an initiative started by the European University Institute, aspires to foster values like Trust, Independence, Impartiality, and Accountability among legal professionals under the EU Charter. It aims to achieve this goal through a carefully crafted array of training activities and tools tailored to judges, lawyers, prosecutors, and other stakeholders within the legal field.
Karolina’s contribution to this seminar was nothing short of remarkable. Her lecture, titled “Independent (?) Prosecutors in EU member states,” delved into insights into the recent challenges the legal field faces, particularly regarding the independence of prosecutors throughout the European Union.
The honor of Karolina’s presence at the seminar was extended courtesy of Jarosław Gwizdak, a member of the Board at INPRIS. Mr. Gwizdak, renowned for his roles as a lawyer, former judge, columnist, and advocate for efficient, citizen-friendly public institutions, mediation, and social innovation, recognized Karolina’s expertise in the legal realm. His invitation not only underscored Karolina’s impact within her field but also highlighted the significance of her perspective.
Let’s give a big round of applause to Karolina for her outstanding contribution to the seminar. Her dedication and insights have made an impact, not only for the Digital Justice Center but also for the broader legal community, driving positive change and justice for all.
