We are pleased to announce that the director of our Digital Justice Center, Karolina Kremens, has become Deputy Chairman of the Commission for the Codification of the System of Judiciary and Public Prosecution! We are proud that her expertise will play a part in shaping a fresh chapter of the Polish justice system.
The Commission will draft legislation on the system of the judiciary and public prosecution. The draft laws and executive acts adopted by the Commission will be presented to the Minister of Justice by the Commission’s chairman. The Commission will assist the Minister of Justice in the legislative process for the drafts being developed.
Karolina Kremens has practical experience related to the work of a prosecutor, having previously served as an assistant prosecutor in Wroclaw. She complements this with a broad academic background, having authored, among other things, publications on the prosecutor’s office (see for example: K. Kremens, Powers of the Prosecutor in Criminal Investigation. A Comparative Perspective, Routledge 2021) or having worked for many years in the Department of Criminal Procedure. On top of this, she has international experience, gained by leading international grants and during her numerous stays at various universities, including those in the US and Canada.
