Our research assistants, Aleksandra Bodzioch and Kamil Sobański, took part in the conference “Current Faces of the Criminal Process” organized by the Criminal Procedural Law Research Team and the “Ultima Ratio” Penal Sciences Academic Circle operating at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin.
Aleksandra took part in the panel “The current face of the criminal process – what trends of change prevail” and presented her paper “The victim in light of the amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure: analysis of changes and prospects.” She focused on the analysis of the modifications introduced in recent years in the Polish system of criminal procedural law, in terms of the role and position of the victim in the subject of consensual termination of proceedings and the mode of filing a subsidiary indictment.
Kamil presented in the panel “Informatization of the criminal trial – how is the modern Polish criminal trial changing, where are we going?” and presented a paper “Remote hearing on temporary arrest”. He addressed the remote participation of the suspect in the hearing on temporary arrest on the basis of the amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure of June 2020.
We would like to thank the organizers for allowing us to participate in the conference and for the fruitful discussion during both panels!
