Welcoming Max Wrobel, Visiting Scholar at the Digital Justice Center
We are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to our guest, Max Wrobel, from the University of Cologne. Max joined our DJC Team as the very first Visiting Scholar. His stay (sponsored by DAAD) officially began at the beginning of August and will continue until the end of October.
Having been employed under the guidance of prof. Bettina Weisser at the University of Cologne, he is working on his PhD thesis Corporate Assistance by Omission to Atrocities.
He wants to use these three months at the DJC for an in-depth look into the Corporate Assistance of IT-Companies to Atrocities. Importantly, he already published articles linked to DJC’s research focus: one piece on video recording of witness examination in criminal trial (Untch, Wrobel, JSt 2022, pp 319-325, https://doi.org/10.33196/jst202204031901) and another about the need for a data economy international criminal law (Rechtswissenschaft (RW), 2023).
Besides his interest in all aspects of Criminal Law, Max has an interest in contemporary history of middle- and eastern Europe, art and from time-to-time gloomy techno music.
Once again, a hearty welcome to Max Wrobel, and we look forward to the remarkable contributions he will undoubtedly make during his stay with us.
