A new book edited by our researchers has just been published! Wojciech Jasinski and Karolina Kremens edited the book “Compensation for Wrongful Convictions: A Comparative Perspective”. In addition, they also wrote introduction and summary chapter ‘In quest of the optimum model for compensating wrongful convictions’ for this volume.

The book was published by Routledge and it presents the results of comparative research conducted in the scope of the NCN project ‘Compensation for Wrongful Deprivation of Liberty. Theory and Practice’ (2017/26/E/HS5/00382).

The publication contains a comprehensive comparative analysis of the substantive and procedural aspects of compensation for wrongful convictions in European countries and the USA, as well as the standard derived from the case law of the European Court of Human Rights.
