Aleksandra Bodzioch has received a Minigrant for PhD students<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re thrilled to share that Aleksandra Bodzioch<\/a> has received a Minigrant for PhD students financed by the “Research University – Excellence Initiative<\/a>” program conducted at the University of Wroclaw! This funding supports PhD candidates in bringing their innovative research projects to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her project, titled “J\u0119zyk prosty w polskim procesie karnym a komunikacja prawnicza w systemie common law \u2013 analiza i implementacja dobrych praktyk” (Plain language in Polish criminal proceedings and legal communication in the common law system \u2013 analysis and implementation of good practices), focuses on exploring different approaches to legal communication in criminal trials under the common law system and identifying best practices that could be applied in Poland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this grant, Aleksandra will participate in the international workshop “The Courtroom as a Linguistic Arena: Language, Law, and the Pursuit of Justice in Criminal Trials\u201d organized by the TRUE Project<\/a> team at Swansea University. She will present a paper on plain language standards and their implementation in Polish victim rights letters \u2013 bringing Polish research to an international forum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This experience will enrich her work with a comparative perspective and lead to recommendations for more effective and inclusive communication of rights and obligations for crime victims. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
