FACILEX Conference hosted at the University of Wroc\u0142aw!\u00a0<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

We are thrilled to announce that on May 9th, the FACILEX Conference took place at the Faculty of Law, Administration, and Economics, University of Wroc\u0142aw. This conference showcased the innovative FACILEX platform and served as a forum for engaging discussions on three important topics: the European Arrest Warrant, European Investigation Order as well as freezing and confiscation orders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

FACILEX itself represents a groundbreaking initiative aimed at enhancing recognition in criminal matters within the European Union. This ambitious project focuses on analyzing and building capacity regarding three key mutual recognition instruments, spanning nine EU member states. It offers a multidisciplinary approach, blending legal expertise with IT and legal informatics, to create a freely accessible, AI-powered online platform. This platform provides a comprehensive repository of EU and national legislation and case law, while also offering automated guidance to legal practitioners, thereby facilitating smoother cooperation across borders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FACILEX Conference featured three insightful panels, each delving into crucial aspects of legal cooperation within the European Union. Led by experts, these panels provided a platform for in-depth discussions on key topics. The first panel, focusing on the European Arrest Warrant, was moderated by prof. UWr dr hab. Agnieszka Fr\u0105ckowiak-Adamska. The introduction to discussion included expertise of prof. dr hab. H. Kuczy\u0144ska from the Institute of Legal Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences and dr Adrian Zbiciak from the Catholic University of Lublin. The second panel, centered around the European Investigation Order, was led by prof. UWr dr hab. Wojciech Jasi\u0144ski, with a discussion initiated by dr Martyna Kusak from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Pozna\u0144, dr Maciej Fingas from the University of Gda\u0144sk, and dr Dominika Czerniak from the University of Wroc\u0142aw. The third panel, addressing freezing and confiscation orders, was moderated by dr hab. Karolina Kremens, LL.M., with an introduction by prof. UAM dr hab. El\u017cbieta Hryniewicz-Lach, Prosecutor Agnieszka K\u0119pka from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin, and Prosecutor Jakub Przystupa from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Wroc\u0142aw. These panels not only provided valuable insights into the practical applications of discussed legal instruments but also fostered meaningful dialogue among experts from various institutions, enriching the understanding of mutual recognition in criminal matters across the European Union. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
