DJC team in the 12th Conference on the future of adversarial and inquisitorial systems \u201cBias and criminal justice\u201d<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The last week was very busy for our DJC team! We had a chance to actively participate in the 12th Conference on the future of adversarial and inquisitorial systems \u201cBias and criminal justice\u201d<\/a> hosted at the University of Bologna<\/a> from 17 May to 19 May 2023. This annual meeting of criminal law scholars was organized in collaboration with the University of Basel<\/a>, Duke University<\/a>, Warwick Law School<\/a> and the University of North Carolina<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the early career scholars event Dorota Czerwi\u0144ska<\/a> discussed \u201c(Un)biased negotiated justice\u201c while Kaja Kowalczewska<\/a> reported the results of survey carried out among judges and lawyers from Ukraine in the presentation \u201c\u2019The Fog of war\u2019 as a bias factor in criminal proceedings\u201d. Karolina Kremens<\/a>, during the main event, talked about the gender bias in digitalized criminal justice in her a presentation with a telling title \u201cThis is a Man’s World\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our team very much enjoyed the time spent with new and old friends (special thanks to prof. Michele Caianiello<\/a>!), fantastic food and numerous walks among the centuries-old streets and monuments in orange and red. At the same time, our thoughts are with all those affected by the heavy rainfall that hit this region of Italy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
