Wojciech Jasi\u0144ski was nominated the Professor of the University of Wroc\u0142aw<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

We are happy to announce that our team member Wojciech Jasi\u0144ski<\/a>, after a successful assessment of his academic performance, was nominated the Professor of the University of Wroc\u0142aw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After gaining his habilitation in law in 2020 Wojciech continued his research on human rights in criminal proceedings and involvement in research projects, including Crossjustice<\/a> financed by the European Commission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He recently published an article \u2018Admissibility of evidence obtained by torture and inhuman or degrading treatment: does the European Court of Human Rights offer a coherent and convincing approach?\u2019<\/a> in the European Journal of Crime, Criminal Law and Criminal Justice (2021, Volume 29, Issue 2, pp. 127\u2013153) and co-authored a chapter summarizing the results of the Crossjustice project (K. Kremens, W. Jasi\u0144ski, D. Czerwi\u0144ska, D. Czerniak, There and back again: a struggle with transposition of EU directives<\/a> [in:] Effective protection of the rights of the accused in the EU directives : a computable approach to criminal procedure law<\/a>, eds. G. Contissa, G. Lasagni, M. Caianiello, G. Sartor, Brill 2022, pp. 154\u2013169). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together with Karolina Kremens he also published an editorial to the Revista Brasileira de Direito Processual Penal (2021, volume 7, no. 1) \u2018Admissibility of Evidence in Criminal Process. Between the Establishment of the Truth, Human Rights and the Efficiency of Proceedings<\/a>\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wojciech\u2019s recent research was also focused on illegally obtained evidence before the international criminal courts and tribunals. In 2022 his entry to the Max Planck Encyclopedia of International Procedural Law (Oxford University Press) on that topic has been accepted and awaits for publication. Last but not least Professor Jasi\u0144ski, together with dr hab. Karolina Kremens, is finalizing editing works on the collective volume on compensation for wrongful conviction in comparative perspective (forthcoming, Routledge), being one of the main results of the research project Compensation for wrongful conviction \u2013 theory and practice<\/a> managed by him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
