Facilitating mutual recognition: Analytics and Capacity building Information LEgal eXplainable tool to strengthen cooperation in the criminal matter (FACILEX)<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The project is focused on analysis of the implementation and application of three mutual recognition instruments \u2013 European Arrest Warrant, European Investigation Order as well as freezing and confiscation orders (Regulation (EU) 2018\/1805) \u2013 in 9 EU member States (Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Spain). It is however not limited to a classical legal analysis. Thanks to a multidisciplinary research team in criminal law, IT and legal informatics, FACILEX aims at creating a freely accessible, AI powered, integrated, and modular online platform offering access to relevant EU and national legislation and case law, and providing automated advice to legal practitioners on concrete judicial cooperation scenarios. Accessing the platform, users will receive a tailored legal assessment on potential cooperation flaws and available remedies, drawing all possible solutions relative to the given parameters. FACILEX builds on the research findings of the earlier EU-funded CrossJustice project – https:\/\/digitaljustice.uwr.edu.pl\/en\/projects\/crossjustice-2019-2022\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FACILEX aims to create an ambitious meeting ground between the theoretical study and the practical application of EU cooperation instruments. A tool like FACILEX represents an absolute novelty in legal research, allowing for easier access even to those who are not familiar with the law. This platform will also support policy makers in evaluating the level of harmonisation of national legal frameworks and proposing fruitful reforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

University of Wroc\u0142aw team will be led by Wojciech Jasi\u0144ski and apart from Karolina Kremens will be also composed of Professor Agnieszka Fr\u0105ckowiak-Adamska from the Department of International and European Law at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is a cooperation of University of Bologna, European University Institute, University of Zagreb, University of Turin, Maastricht University and University of Wroc\u0142aw as well as APIS \u2013 a leading company providing legal and business information systems in Bulgaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is supported by various legal practitioners organizations from the EU member states, including Polish Bar Council<\/a> nad Lex Super Omnia Prosecutors’ Association<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is financed by the EU and coordinated by the University of Bologna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
