Kaja Kowalczewska<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Kaja Kowalczewska is Assistant Professor at the Digital Justice Center, University of Wroc\u0142aw, and since October 2025 has been leading the FVTV project<\/a>\u00a0on the risks and benefits of user-generated evidence on a part-time basis. In the same month, she also became a Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow<\/a>\u00a0and Principal Investigator of the DIGDEM project<\/a> at Queen’s University Belfast (Northern Ireland, United Kingdom), which explores the digitalization of the international criminal justice ecosystem and the participatory turn in accountability processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaja received her first master\u2019s degree in law from Jagiellonian University of Krakow<\/a>. During these master studies she gained international experience at the University of Montpellier<\/a> 1 in France (Erasmus+) and at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime<\/a> (Vienna) in Austria (Erasmus + internship). At the same time, Kaja graduated from the School of French Law<\/a>, completed Master II professionnel in French and International Business Law at the University of Orl\u00e9ans in France<\/a>, which finished with the internship at the French National Court of Asylum (CNDA)<\/a> in Montreuil, France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She continued studies in France at the Panth\u00e9on-Assas University<\/a> in Paris and was awarded the title of Master II recherche in International Private and Business Law. In 2013 she was awarded the title of Master of Arts in European Interdisciplinary Studies at the College of Europe<\/a>, Natolin Campus (full scholarship by European Commission).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2012, Kaja started her doctoral studies at the Jagiellonian University and was awarded three year-long grant from National Science Centre (PRELUDIUM<\/a>) and scholarship (ETIUDA<\/a>) to research the legality of lethal autonomous weapon systems. In 2017 she spent three months in the Program on Regulating Emerging Military Technologies<\/a> at the University of Melbourne (Australia)<\/a>. In December 2018 Kaja defended her PhD dissertation entitled \u2018Lethal systems with progressive autonomy – an international legal analysis\u2019<\/a>. For her dissertation she was awarded the first prize in the XXII edition of the Prof. Remigiusz Bierzanek competition organized by Polish Red Cross<\/a> and Ministry of Education \u201cExcellent Science\u201d scholarship<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
